Zines

Yes they can take a lot of hard work and time. This one didn't but it had creativity (a one page zine with a nice fancy fold is pretty creative) and it seems there is originality because it looks like it is all Mikala's stuff. Zines are about D.I.Y. ethos. Taking a magazine which is a lot of fancy pages and dedication and staff and money and work and all that and making it something accessible to the people. Anyone can make a zine, it doesn't take a corporation to make it. Zines only take you and if you know your stuff you can print them for free and put what you want in them.

If you like analyzing the Noam Chomsky's position on post modern art, you could make a zine out of it or if you have a favorite recipe for fried tofu and chocolate cake you could make a zine of it. It is whatever you want to do and that is awesome! Zines could be really short or they could be elaborate and lengthy but the most important thing is they come from regular people not fancy businesses!
