L’histoire de ce livre part d’une envie. Celle d’un éducateur de rue de banlieue parisienne d’écrire des chroniques sur la vie d’une cité, avec les jeunes qu’il côtoie dans son travail. L’idée est d’abord de mettre en place un atelier d’écriture où, pour une fois, ce sont les intéressés qui s’expriment et non pas des gens qui parlent de leur vie à leur place.
