Ese día, a las 1:30 de la tarde, el bloque de personas y organizaciones con las que se movilizaba Nicolás, fue atacado por la Policía en la carrera 7ª entre las Calles 16 y 19 del centro de la ciudad. Las personas, corrieron presas del miedo, en medio de gases lacrimógenos, granadas aturdidoras y la violencia policial que les arrojaba con furia el Escuadrón Móvil Anti Disturbios ESMAD.br / br / Nico no pudo correr tanto y cayó al piso asfixiado por los gases, por lo que fue alcanzado por un grupo de agentes del ESMAD, quienes en un número superior a 8, lo patearon y golpearon boca abajo, sádicamente en medio de su más completa indefensión. Tendido en el piso, con sus ojos impregnados de esperanza mirando al cielo, el joven estudiante fue rodeado por agentes del ESMAD, mientras mucha gente se solidarizaba, denunciando el hecho y pidiendo ayuda médica para el muchacho. Finalmente, varias personas solidarias consiguieron llevar a Nico a un hospital, el CAMI del barrio la Perseverancia en el que estuvo toda la tarde sin tratamiento y luego en la madrugada, a la Clínica Jorge Piñero Corpas. Era sin embargo muy tarde. En el parte médico se consigno que Nico presentaba un trauma craneoencefálico severo, una fractura occipital, un enema cerebral y se encontraba en estado de coma. Finalmente el viernes 6 de mayo hacia las 3 de la tarde, el joven se fue de este mundo en medio del dolor de familiares, amigos y amigas.br / br

Él vive en Pedro Aguirre Cerda, es fanático de Colo Colo y de la serie Spartacus, de hecho en twitter se hace llamar @elperrotracio por su evidente parecido con este personaje histórico, que al igual que el gladiador que organizó un ejercito de esclavos rebeldes en contra Roma, siendo considerando posteriormente como el primer revolucionario de origen popular, Fabián es de los pocos, o quizás el único dirigente estudiantil del último tiempo, que trabaja por necesidad y no por un anhelo de autonomía. br / br / También es importante mencionar que es un compañero de origen popular y de ahí su cercana relación con el contexto social, el cual viene principalmente ligado a su experiencia personal. Por eso, sabe cómo piensa la mayoría de los jóvenes endeudados y esforzados, porque él también es uno de ellos. Además, esta cercanía y origen modesto se ve reflejado en lo sindical, debido a que como mencionábamos anteriormente, el compañero es trabajador, lo que le permite establecer un vínculo directo con el mundo sindical.
